solid not great. the stir fried vegetable & tofu noodles are kind of bland. the veggie spring rolls & dumplings are good though!
But public transportation is available

Had high hopes for this place.. came here with my boyfriend for dim sum on a Saturday morning, although the staff was friendly, they seemed rather preoccupied with a large takeout order they were dealing with at the time we were there. We were one of the only ones eating in the restaurant, and we had a hard time getting the attention of the staff for water and service ... The food did take a long to get to our table. Food was average and also on the pricer side.
Took my well-versed in dim sum/Asian cuisine family to Jade Dynasty and we got seated quite quickly despite it being 1 pm on a Sunday. They had a good selection of food and everything was extremely tasty. We found it to be very reasonable as well. We will be returning in the future. :)
It was good but not anything special. The shrimp/prawn dumplings were by far, the best thing we had. The chicken feet were definitely a novelty, I couldn't stomach them but my husband loved them! The green onion pancake was lacking in flavor compared to other restaurants that I've this at. The baked BBQ pork buns were too sweet, as there was a sweet "crumb" mixture on top of the buns that tasted like a cookie.
The best pork bao, garlic green beans and pancakes ever! Really should go here
A great place for Cantonese dim sum. The shrimp is sometimes not as tasty as one might hope, but otherwise their dumplings are all quite good. As an added bonus, they serve all the dim sum favourites later in the day than most other places.
Really great place for dim sum! 4 of us on a Sunday afternoon had a blast. Really good food, it all seems fresh and well prepared. There was a bit of a line despite having made a reservation, but only about 5 minutes and it is certainly worth it.
My absolute FAVOURITE Dim Sum restaurant EVER! First of all, the Dim Sum is superb - perfectly prepared and sumptuous. Prices are actually very reasonable. Ingredients are always so fresh. Very friendly staff. Lovely decor. GREAT Chinatown location. I regularly come in from Bowen for this!
It's very good. A lot of choices. A butiful place.
Had a wonderful experience, staff were friendly and helpful. They had the traditional dimsum favourites that you could order. There was a surprise BBQ pork bun which was not on the menu, a server brought it out. Almost like the traditional dimsum service. The lady owner was very friendly and helpful. I like the bright interior with red lanterns. The Siu Mai was excellent and so were the deep fried shrimp with chives wanton. Also tried and liked their Har Gow and shrimp with rice noodles.
Nice little restaurant in Chinatown. Must try pork with eggplant. The beer is not that great, tea is ok. Staff is pretty accommodating. Chinese families dine in their, that is always a good sign.
The dim sum dishes are great. The Sound Mai is cooked with the dices of the pork and dices of shitaki mushroom. It is the traditional ingredients. It is very juicy.
Surprisingly Superb Quality Dim Sum. A friend visiting from New York wanted to try this place out. Too be honest I was skeptical at first as I was of the belief that the best dim sum was found mostly in Richmond and Vancouver. I would never have previously recommended to anyone to have dim sum in Chinatown. Boy was I wrong. All of the items that we tried were top notch. Dare I say on par or in some cases even better than the restaurants in Richmond/Van. Service is also quite acceptable when compared to other establishments. Prices were very reasonable when considering the quality and presentation of their dishes. This is an honest review from a Vancouver-born-Cantonese-guy. Don’t hesitate to try this place out.
Fast and yummy Chinese food in Vancouver's Chinatown! They have a good selection of Dim Sum, Vegetarian friendly. Accomodating to my vegetarian needs. Worth checking out!
Great to see Jade Garden producing very good food in Chinatown. The dried scallop and egg white fried rice was moist and flavourful. The eggplant and shrimp paste was very good with fresh ingredients, and the halibut jaw was a nice serving of fresh tasting pieces of fish in a nice crunchy coating. The right jewel hotpot was very flavourful. The surroundings are nice clean and modern and the service is friendly and helpful. Chinatown is making a come back!
Delicious food! Good customer service, however, the location is sketchy!! Make sure to go in early afternoon as the homeless and troubled people are out in full force after 6pm.
Delicious food! Friendly service and pleasant ambiance. Highly recommended!
Chinese food on Pender st , Vancouver, Canada so so but good price, yuo can have Pho in this restaurant , place to bring friend with you , nice owner, clean and good service.
I live in the neighbourhood and we always order from here. Very friendly staff. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and beef with broccoli last night and it was absolutely delicious .
We tried to taste China cuisine during the Cina town visit. It was comfortable with speed service and tasty food.
A solid dim sum place. All of the standard dishes were up to par! The shu mai were very tasty and fresh, so were the har gow. The other favorite was the sesame bun with egg yolk custard — so sinful and so worth it
Decent dim sum place and portion. The cheung fun were too thick and not enough meats/shrimp. Selection was limited. No push carts so cook to order. Service was good.
Food is good, service is good, ONLY reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because they’re clearly smoking in the kitchen. I was sitting right at the kitchen entrance, and there’s. I denying it
Super hospitable and friendly staff. Perfect hot kettle of jasmine. Shrimp stir fry tasted neat.
What we ordered was good. The restaurant it self is a bit tight.
One of the more OG restaurants in the area for dim sum. Portions are pretty average but are very filling. Only criticism I have is that their xiao long baos are too sticky, so the wrapper ended up splitting open. Service is prompt and very friendly as well. A tip for those who don't go to Asian restaurants often, ALWAYS flag down your server if you need something. No one will check up on your table as it's extremely normal in Asia.
Dimsum was good, but the beef flat noodles had no flavor. Service was NOT good. They forgot about us after our food was delivered. It was hot and I don't think the AC works...? Our cups were empty and we didn't get a refill until our 3rd time asking. We ate here around 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't that busy... Also, we didn't get the chicken wings we ordered. Unsure if we paid for it because our receipt was in Chinese. Good points were that we did get our food pretty quickly, dimsum was good, there was free Wi-Fi, and clean bathroom. But our service was truly that bad...
I've been coming here for many years, but this is the first time back since they renovated a few years ago. I remember they use to be very busy, always a line up, but today we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant was fairly empty at 11am on a Sat. Probably not a good sign. The food arrived fairly quickly, and the service was pretty good, but everything was very bland, almost no flavor. Prices have also gone up quite a bit, almost $6 per dish for the large (most of the dishes are considered large). These are the same price as some of the places in Richmond which have better tasting food. Once upon a time, there use to be DimSum restaurants on every corner in Chinatown, but sadly there's only a couple left so there really isn't much of a choice anymore.
Ok Chinese food. They charge for tea, ugh. The food isn't anything special. We came for dim sum and it's pretty bland, nothing stood out as special. Overall a disappointment
Really nice. I really enjoy their Wonton Noodle soup.
Only had prawn rice roll, prawn steam dumpling and egg tart.I would say prawn wise, they were fresh and therefore it gives a good bite. Rice roll and the skin wrap is decent enough, at the very least they are well made unlike other bad places where skin has irregular textureEgg tart isn't particularly good or bad Just an egg tart that follow the rules of baking. But at least it doesn't taste bad. Will visit again for other dishes next time.
It is so delicious and way better than I expected so worth the money
The food is delicious, they have good selections of late dim sum (after 3pm) and they were all 6.98$ I love the taste and the portion. The service is excellent too, very fast and the waitress never let our tea pot empty and she also brought us spicy sauce and other sauce for the dim sum without us even asking. The place looks new and the restroom is super clean.
Honestly I saw some bad review from the google map, so I didn't expect their food will be great. However shrimp dumpling was really great! I liked food and service was good too!
They serve decent dim sum here. The pan fried turnip cake with XO sauce is very good. I’d say the price is ok. The total bill was about $50 for seven dishes The service is friendly and fast. However we noticed that someone was smoking in the kitchen, or by the backdoor of the kitchen. We could smell the cigarette smoke coming out of the kitchen. That is not OK 👎🏼 hence two stars.
Unassuming, but GOOD dim sum (Cantonese brunch tapas. Fresh, made to order food.Order a bunch and finish with some heavenly egg tarts. The garlic hot sauce is awesome.
Decent dim sums and cozy place to dine in.
This is a great restaurant if you’re in the mood for dim sum and Asian cuisine. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious. It is very reasonably priced and the decor is bright and cheerful. The staff are pleasant, attentive and efficient. I enjoy supporting small, local business owners and this is absolutely one of my go-to, local dim sum restaurants. Definitely worth dining here if you’re in the area.FYI: They have all day dim sum ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***
Came here for dim sum during the week. Was not busy, there was no wait time to be seated. Staff seemed to be very quick and didn't muck around. Once we ordered we didn't wait long to recieve our four dishes. Thought the prices were reasonable but was too expensive to get a main dish at around $17.95.
We came in with a group of nine on a field trip. We ordered nine different dishes and shared. Everything came out very quickly. The food was delicious and they have a great variety. I honestly was blown away by the customer service.
An older dim sum restaurant in Vancouver Chinatown that served pretty good dim sum.
Congee was so good, my baby likes it. Busy location but we were able to sit quick. Fried noodles have a medium rare beef, I dont like pink on my beef, if its not a steak. Will go back here still.
Stoked to finally find a solid dim sum spot in Vancouver. Its a really solid price and everything I had was amazing. The pork buns were especially good and the XLB was actually perfect.I've been searching for a place like this for so long and I'll definitely be back.
Food is descent but pricy, otherwise I would rate 4 for the food quality. Small pieces of rice cake cost almost 6! The rice cakes should not cost so much. The service is acceptable. Lin restaurant on the West Broadway St. Is better in terms of cost-quality value.
Great food. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Will come again. Thank you
This place is straight from the 60’s and a Vancouver Chinatown landmark. It’s been nicely renovated but keeping with the traditional old-school look. Even the menu was bound in a super cool wooden cover. Prices are reasonable and they have a wide selection of dim sum items. We had the usual favourites and they were tasty and well presented. The hot and sour soup is recommended and so are the crystal prawns. If you are a tourist or new to Vancouver, leave a comment if this review was helpful.
It was delicious. Don't be fooled by the all day dim sum. The quality is still there.
This place is a diamond in the rough. I ate breakfast here and it was perfect. Every dish was delicious and flavored well. The service was entertaining and the atmosphere was classic dim sum. Highly recommend.
Some decades passed since I last had dimsum in Chinatown. The food was delicious: from prawn dumplings to mushroom rolls we enjoyed every dish. Staff are friendly and attentive. Cleanest washrooms I have seen at a dimsum place!
Ate here twice within a week, for dinner and for lunch. Fast, efficient service, featuring classic Cantonese flavours. For dinner, we had the stir fried eggplant (my hands-down fave dish on the menu), garlic fried pea shoots, and a couple of all-day dim sum dishes: glutinous rice buns and lava custard buns for dessert, both of which are fairly unique within the land of dim sum, and were fresh and light. Dining facilities were clean and bright, and the tea fragrant. The eatery is Chinatown's only remaining street-level sit-down full-service dim sum restaurant (the other dim sum place is a large 1,000-seat banquet hall called Floata upstairs in the Chinatown Plaza, good for large groups). Centrally located within fully-restored heritage building. Free wifi network. Filling and fulfilling!
Food was pretty good, I would recommend Lap Cheong rice
